My fine art pet portraits will capture your special animal companion’s unique personality and exact likeness in an oil painting that will last a lifetime. These true to life paintings create a lasting memory of your dog, cat, rabbit, or other pet. I try to portray not only your pet’s physical appearance but also capture the essence and spirit that you love so much. Your pet can be set in a favorite background making your pet portrait even more personal. They are painted on stretched canvas in a very realistic style that will reflect your pet accurately. When completed I send it to you unframed as I think the frame for your portrait is a very individual choice that depends on where it will be placed.
My Professional Background
I studied portrait painting for five years at The Art Student’s League in New York City and am an award winning paperback book cover artist. I have worked for many of the most well known publishing companies and my book covers have been published worldwide. You can see samples of them in my Paperback Cover Gallery. At this time I have decided to concentrate on painting pet portraits since animals have always been such an important part of my life and I feel a special bond with them. Knowing how much we love our animal companions I try to capture each pet’s unique and distinctive features in every portrait I do. Although I enjoyed my work in publishing I find painting these pet portraits more satisfying as they reflect the love and commitment we feel for our beloved pets. I know you will see that love in all my cat, dog, and rabbit paintings. If you would like to see more of my artwork please go to my Dog Pet Portrait Galleries, my Cat, Rabbit, Bird, and More Pet Portrait Gallery and my Landscape and Portrait Gallery.

I also require close-ups of the head to ensure accuracy. These photos need not be larger than 4”x5”. You can contact me at cadmium@nyc.rr.com.
